The Charlie Wright Episode

On 2nd June 1991 Charlie Wright, one of the greatest goalkeepers ever to play for Charlton Athletic and certainly one of the most popular players in the club’s history; made his debut on ‘Charlton Chat’. 

This show, which also featured the then ‘Miss Charlton’ Carrie White; includes some great stories and reminiscences from Charlie - and from those fans who called in to speak to the person Charlton supporters voted as the former player they most wanted to hear on ‘Charlton Chat’. 

One call was from well-known Charlton fan Les Turner, who sadly passed away in February 2020.  The genuine affection Les and Charlie had for each other as they swapped stories about an end of season trip to Italy was clear to everyone listening.
